立佛。一尊佛陀像，以黑色片岩雕刻，立于莲花座上；右手施与印（varadamudrā）；周身环绕火焰背光。佛陀左侧有一尊跪姿弥勒（未来佛，礼拜其前世佛陀）。有铭文。

Inscription note: The inscriptions are a personal dedication and the Buddhist creed. According to the Rajendra Lala publication the Creed is carved on the back of both the stone Buddha figures from the site. In fact the reverse of the BM piece is quite plain.

伯纳德·梅森（Bernard Mason）于1983年3月13日写给弗拉基米尔·兹瓦尔夫（Wladimir Zwalf）的一封信中，附有一张大英博物馆藏苏尔坦甘杰佛（Sultanganj Buddha）的照片，照片背面写有如下文字：“1933年从巴尔萨尔希思（Balsall Heath）莫斯利路（Moseley Road）的古董商艾伦先生（Mr Allen）处购得；后随其店铺迁至伯明翰新街（New Street）附近的柱廊通道（Colonnade Passage）6号。（信息提供者：G·伯纳德·梅森，地址：伯明翰13区莫斯利，北国路33号）”。在该佛被售予大英博物馆之前，梅森先生可能是（除古董商外）它的最后一位持有者。
