此像中的佛陀身穿僧袍（如本例所示），这一特征常常清晰地勾勒出身形。这种风格特征在印度至少可以追溯到笈多时期。加德满都谷地不仅以高品质的金属工艺闻名，还因其在低地平原的印度风格早已过时之后仍将其长期延续而著称。此像中笈多风格的传承——尽管已是数百年之后——依然显而易见。

Zwalf 1985:
早期佛教认为，不同时代由不同佛陀相继教化，其中有一位未来佛名为弥勒。弥勒最初被表现为带有装饰、手持水瓶的形象，后来则与作说法印、以所谓“欧洲式”坐姿（如坐于椅上）的佛陀形象难以区分。当一尊呈佛陀形、作说法印的坐像在头冠或肩侧莲花上刻有小佛塔时，便可明确判定其为弥勒。此像展示了笈多风格如何在尼泊尔得以延续。
