这种被称为“阿弥陀三尊”的造像组合，表现了阿弥陀如来（梵文：Amitabha Tathagata）与其天部眷属一同“来迎”至此世界、在信徒临终时予以救度的场景。阿弥陀佛（无量光佛）结跏趺坐于佛坛中央的莲花座上，两侧为其胁侍菩萨：右侧为观音（梵文：Avalokiteshvara），左侧为势至（梵文：Mahasthamaprapta）。
